Who runs BaselineQuote?
An independent buying consultancy. Real names on every call, buyer-funded, no supplier money anywhere in the model.
Why does this desk exist?
Because suppliers price the buyer as much as the goods. Regular suppliers learn the buyer's playbook and price the ritual in.
The mandatory three-quote rule and the compulsory discount ask are standing rituals in every purchasing department, and regular suppliers know both by heart. The ask is priced in before the first number lands. The only clean read is the number a stranger gets, and nobody inside the company can ask for it under their own name. That gap is the desk.
How are the calls run?
Real names, disclosed as a buying consultancy with an unnamed client. No invented companies, no false names, nothing signed under pretense.
Where calls happen, we record with notice or take structured notes. AI handles the prep, the transcription, and the comparison drafting; a person makes every call and owns the judgment on whether two specs are actually the same thing. Suppliers who find this site are reading exactly what our clients read: we are a disclosed consultancy, we bring real requests, and a blind RFQ from us occasionally turns into real business at the supplier’s own quoted number.
Do you have clients yet?
Not yet, and this page doesn't pretend otherwise. Posted prices and a refund rule stand in for logos; the first report you see will be your own.
What we offer instead of social proof: posted prices, a refund rule that costs us when a category won’t produce a usable number, and the standing no-supplier-money rule (no commissions, no listing fees, no rebates, no lead fees). When a redacted sample report exists, it will sit here. Until then, [email protected] reaches the person who will run your check, not a ticket queue.
